Gaijin Entertainment is happy to announce that closed beta testing has begun for EdenSpark! A new open source game creation platform will provide individual game creators easy access to console development. During this phase, all users who have applied for CBT access will be able to test the basic functionality of the website, launcher, and editor, and will also have full access to the EdenSpark knowledge base, containing key guides, tips, and documentation. Those interested can apply for CBT access on the official website.
CBT participants will be able to access the games created and published on EdenSpark, both their own and those made by other participants. There’s also a templates section, where everyone can browse demos of simple minigames of various genres. These little projects are full of inspiration. If one catches your eye, simply click the "Clone" button, and it will become the basis of your next project!
In “Editor” mode, creators have unlimited freedom to modify everything from cosmetics to creating new projects based on the logic of the chosen demo. Creators will have full access to the demo project's source code and all the tools you need to create your own game. It’s also possible to start completely new 2D or 3D projects from scratch. After sharing your game on the EdenSpark platform in just a few clicks, it will become available for all users in the “Preview” section.
The EdenSpark team will be closely monitoring the testing process and will promptly address any bugs or issues reported by CBT participants. There’s a lot more to come, a roadmap for EdenSpark was revealed in October, outlining major updates and various new features.
